What is Plasmalite ?

Plasmalite is the third generation of light based hair removal systems. Incorporating all the benefits of both Laser and Intense Pulse Light in a single system and using unique fluorescence technology, offering non-invasive, safe and effective hair removal for all skin types and colours.

How does Plasmalite work ?

Each pulse of red light causes the temperature within the hair shaft and hair follicle to rise. Once the temperature reaches 70C, the proteins in the cells denature and each active hair follicle dies, its ability to regrow is destroyed. Most people experience minimal discomfort, feeling no more than a slight tingling sensation.

How many treatments are needed ?

Most people need between 4 and 6 treatments to result in the permanent removal of unwanted hair. Extremely course, dense hair e.g. a man's beard may take longer.

What does the treatment involve ?

A test patch will be carried out to observe the effects on you. A thin layer of cooling gel will be spread over the area to be treated. The Wave-guide is then drawn over the area and you may notice a series of short light flashes as it passes over. You may not notice an immediate difference but within 2-3 weeks of your second treatment, most of the hair will have disappeared.

Are there any side effects ?

Some sensitive parts of the body may redden or swell slightly, however this should settle within a few hours. A temporary increase or decrease in skin colour may also occur, but this is rare and always disappears after a few months.
